What is SEO and why does my business need it?

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is the secret multi-million pound battleground that you never thought you could influence.

It is effectively the steps that you can take in order to appear higher up in Google rankings and for the relevant terms that people search for. These terms search terms need to be accurate for your business, but also something that people are actually searching for.

For instance, if someone living in Manchester decides that they want to learn to drive, they will most likely conduct a Google search, such as “driving instructors in Manchester”. The time, effort and strategy that a driving instructor employs for SEO will determine whether they appear ahead or behind their competitors in these results.

There are various factors which help determine your Google ranking position. Factors such as your website content being optimised, accurate, and of good quality. Websites also need to be technically optimised as there are elements that Google sees but customers don’t. Google also looks at, and judges (Google is a mean old judge), the quality of your website in various ways such as how long people hang around and who else is sending traffic your way.

Luckily, here at Burrow and Co we have our own search engine gurus who have years of experience and a proven track records for success when it comes to helping companies feature prominently within search engine results. They are walking encyclopedias of insider knowledge that could be the secret weapon you need when it comes to beating your competitors to the top spot.
